Praying for UNCC and the University Church
Hey Prayer Team, Rusty here,
This is a very different prayer request than normal but over the past few years, our focus has been on helping to plant vibrant campus missions that allow God to transform lives and as we develop disciples and leaders. In the past few months, many things have come together to help in the process to do this and we have a few churches and people we are working with. I would love for us to spend this month specifically lifting up the University Church of Christ in Charlotte NC. They are committed to reaching and equipping the students at UNCC (University of North Carolina Charlotte) for Christ.
Brother Dean is really focused on connecting and learning from other campus missions while they spend this first year in prayer, connecting on campus, and developing a team to outreach and equip students on campus. After looking over their 18-month plan, I was so excited to see how prayer was such a high priority, as well as spending time to see where God is already on campus as they build a focused team for the campus.
Below is just a bit about the University Church of Christ: Charlotte has become a melting pot of people from various parts of the United States as well as all over the world. As a result, our congregation is reflective of the melting pot known as the Church. God has led people to us from throughout the United States, Caribbean Islands, Nigeria, Panama, and Japan. We are pleased to know that even though we have different backgrounds, it is our love for Christ that has brought us together.
Things to be praying for:
- God to continue to guide them on how to best connect and outreach at UNCC.
- God to help the church love and invest in students.
- God to put volunteers with a passion for the campus.
- Discernment in their prayer.
