Reflect Campus Missions is a ministry of the Newark Church of Christ, located in Newark, Delaware. In addition to sponsoring a campus ministry, The Blue Hens for Christ, at the University of Delaware campus, our dream is to train new campus ministers through a campus ministry apprenticeship and send them out to plant new campus ministries on North American college/university campuses.
On behalf of the entire Reflect Board, we want you to know that we are thankful for your support and apologize for the irregular communication. In the future, we plan to send monthly emails on the first Wednesday of every month with updates about what is happening with Reflect.
Something to check out is the Christian Chronicle Podcast, which had board members Chris Buxton and Casey Coston on as guests to discuss campus missions among the Churches of Christ in North America. You can listen to that podcast by clicking on the actual podcast site or by clicking on Apple Podcasts (the conversation with Chris and Casey starts around the 30:00 mark).
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Reflect will host our Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser.
This year's golf tournament will take place at the Newark Country Club, 300 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. In addition to the golf game, there will be a raffle and prizes. We will also have Wafflin' Joe Food Truck with us in the morning for you to order their own roasted coffee and an assortment of waffles for breakfast. You can register for the golf tournament here.
Last July, Casey Coston, campus missionary with Blue Hens for Christ at the University of Delaware, and Lauran Brady, campus minister apprentice, were able to attend the annual Campus For Christ Conference, which was hosted by the Christian Student Center at Troy University in Troy, Alabama.
Finally, Harold and Gail Friedline had students from Blue Hens for Christ over for dinner at their house this past July 31st.
Harold Friedline is one of the shepherds serving with the Newark Church of Christ and the hospitality of him and his wife, Gail, is much appreciated. As you can see from the picture, most of the summer students are international students. So the opportunity for these students, many of whom are not Christians, to have dinner in a home not only allows them to experience the culture of an American household but also see what a Christian household is like—with love expressed at hospitality.
