For the past 13 years we have held the Reflect Campus Missions Golf Classic as our main fundraising event of the year. This September we were blessed to work again with the Chesapeake Bay Rising Sun Golf Club to host our event. Sadly, for the first time in 13 years, we made the decision to cancel the golf tournament due to rain. We waited till the last minute Saturday morning, but due to a storm coming up the East coast, rain was forecast for most of the day. We hated to disappoint the golfers who signed up and our 18 sponsors (the most we’ve ever had). Despite the cancellation, our awesome partners @ Chesapeake Bay Rising Sun Golf Club hooked ALL golfers up with vouchers for a full 18 hole game and generous lunch on a date of their choosing!
We are exceedingly grateful to the club and offer our wholehearted thanks for their help in making up the event to the golfers and sponsors. We want to thank everyone who signed up to play for your generosity and support of Reflect Campus Missions!
Also, to all the sponsors for this year: Thank you for your generosity and support! We understand the disappointment of the cancellation, but thanks to your grace and understanding our Fundraiser Event was STILL a success! The proceeds will go towards what we do best - Transforming students for Christ and planting vibrant campus missions!
Relating to campus missions planting - We had the honor of hosting one of our board members, Chris Buxton, in Delaware this month. Chris is a former campus minister, and he currently runs ULife Consulting: an organization aimed at assisting existing ministries and helping to plant new ones. Chris, accompanied by his wife Monica, joined us on the 8th at Newark Church of Christ and gave a sermon. He also gave a talk at one of our BHC Tuesday Dinner and Discussions. Next month you will get an update from Casey detailing more of Chris’s visit and his assistance with our vision!
Once again, we want to thank everyone involved with our Annual Golf Classic: The Golfers, Sponsors, the Chesapeake Bay Rising Sun Golf Club, and you - our individual donors and prayer partners. Your contributions to our ministry help us continue building God’s kingdom and reaching people on college campuses! We’ve been blessed the past 12 years with clear weather and fantastic tournaments. We look forward to hosting our Golf Classic again in 2024!
Please keep us and Reflect Campus Missions in your prayers!
God bless you!
